About The FODMAP Family Kitchen
In the summer of 2017, my husband was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. Alongside medication, he was advised to follow a Low FODMAP diet—but we were sent home with nothing more than a one-page fact sheet.
We were completely confused.
I had two hungry, growing boys to feed, and now I had to figure out how to cook meals that worked for everyone—without spending hours in the kitchen making separate dishes.
I’ll never forget the night I carefully made a chilli without onions or garlic, only to realise I’d used kidney beans (a big no-no on Low FODMAP). I stood at the stove, picking them out one by one, hoping it wouldn’t make my husband sick.
That’s when I realised how hard it was to find simple, family-friendly meals that worked for this way of eating.
